Wifey is redoing a small Baltimore rowhouse, two story 600 sq. feet total, ten foot exposure to the north, ten to the south, east and west shared walls. She wants me to pull up the floors and put down hydronic radiant heat running of a Polaris heater- overkill extreme. The three electric baseboards that were there do the job fine, but they’re “ugly” I am trying to avoid the hassle and expense of running rdh, and the hassle of dealing with her “aesthetic expertise” I know, I know, its a losing battle on both fronts. My question to the masses: Anyone have a line of electric baseboards that don’t look all gills and fins? I might be able to sell her on hydronic baseboards, like the Hydronic Alternatives’ RadiantPanel. Any thoughts or prayers, or should I start searching ebay for high end H2O heaters?
Thanks,
Steve

Keep in mind that if you heat the floors and not the walls then the there will tend to be a significant (and uncomfortable) temperature gradient as one approaches the walls.
