Sorry to beat a dead horse but some more forum questions.
Some of the very early new-forum posts have disappeared from the board. Where did they go? They are NOT in the archives. (For example, there was a post on power screwdrivers if you want to go hunting)
Also, when you see posts with the word “new” next to them, what is the definition of “new”? Does it refer to the thirty-minute edit period, is it an hour, a day?
It also seems like the search feature is a little lame. On one occasion it appeared like it failed to search the title of the topics perhaps only searching the body of the messages. Haven’t had time to thoroughly test the search feature but would like to hear if others have been experiencing similar problems.

kent,
yup. some of the posts have vanished, and i'm just figuring out how to archive messages here, so be prepared for more stuff to get lost in the near future.
sean.
*If you register (once) and sign in each time, "new" will mark those messages you have not read. It appears the data is kept at the taunton server and not cookies on my hard disk since it's always up to date no matter which computer I sign in on - a feature I have not found elsewhere. But I would be curious of what determines "new" for those who don't sign in........
*And I just figured out that if you click "New Messages" in the menu bar at the top, only those threads with messages I haven't read are shown. Very kewl!
*just added it to keep you alert, bill.happy gentile new year to all!
