I am looking into getting some gutter guards put onto out gutters. We live in Georgia, surrounded by oaks, and the gutters clog up in no time.
Somebody came by, and is selling and installing the Gutter Pro system. It is a system of lid that slides under the 2nd shingle and is supported by braces. It sounds good, especially since our current gutters are fine (when they are clean, that is).
Has any one had any experience with that particular product? heard anything bad about it? can suggest better stuff?
Thanks!

read your inquiry early this AM................went to work......thought about it!
First of all this may be a "gimmick" deal that will be very expensive and not really work. Secondly lifting the second layer of shingles to install the "Gutter Pro" may actually damage your shingles....hence a leak.
Ask for references, check the house owners out that are listed older than 6-12 months since purchase. Ask for a sample of the product....and take it to a local home center.....or a Mom & Pop Lumber yard..............check the price for a DIY equivilent product. Is the door-door salesman making BIG $$ or is it resonable?
I live in the woods also...100 ft oaks and yellow poplar......gutters suck..........so does everything else I've tried. Clean then MANY times a year.

Mushrooms love to grow in the dark wet gutters, but it will keep the leaves out.
The leaf guard system work very well.Where they cap your gutter up to the last 1/4 inch or so and then the guard rolls under like a sort of lip which leads the water into the gutter and the leaves run past the gutters. A neighbor of mine in my last house had them installed and I was impressed.Like Iron said..get local references and speak with the homeowners.
Be well

One consideration which does not apply to you in GA, but might concern others reading this post, is most of those bullnose gutter guards tend to freeze badly on the north side of the house. I've seen stallagtites and stalagmites of ice 25'+ tall from snow melt.
