We’ve gotten a few quotes for seamless gutters. A couple of the quotes used 3′ diverters in the chimney area. the other two quotes used gutter. Is one method preferable to another?

Huh?

The rear of the house has basically a U shape- the dining room on one side and the master b/r on the other. The recess between the two (roughly 12' across and 8' deep has the chimney in middle of it. Two of the quotes had short lengths of gutter each side of the chimney. The two other quotes (and the least expensive) had 3' diverters on each side of the chimney on the roof to route the water to the gutters on the dining room and master b/r. No experience with the diverters and was wondering if they are an effective solution or a problem in the making.
