I have gypcrete priced at around 2.50/ sq. ft. This is the route I had been planning. Floor joists are sized appropriately. I could still go with a QuickTrac type of product. I will be installing hardwood over much of the area… tile in some and carpet in some… Is one system more energy efficient than the other? Are costs comparable? What is the preferred method of installing hardwood over gypcrete?

One thing to consider is that, with QuickTrak, you can see the tubing when you're nailing the floor, so it goes pretty quickly. With gyp, you better have it marked out REAL accurately, or you'll be patching some PEX.
