Had the opportunity to try the Festool
In all of Canada, you can only buy Festool from one distributer, and they don’t care much about the little guy. Not that I’m buying anything anyway, not being rich.
I went across the border yesterday to Americaland and had a salesman thrust a T55 saw/rail system in my hands and insist I try it. It was hooked up to the vac and everything.
That thing is a bloody miracle. And the friggin’ toolboxes that clip together, and stack on top the vacuum, which is quiet and light and rolls around nice. . . !!!!!
Nice to test drive the BMW. Time to get back behind the wheel of my Corolla.

you can buy festool from hafele.
Right. And only Hafele.
I bought mine from them without any issues. They ship very fast. I also picked up a few accessories by simply quoting model numbers of the festoolusa site to them.

well, i'm just up the road from hafele, plus i have an account there, so it's not a huge issue for me. if i had the money, of course.

Pretty much. Like most Festool stuff,
you can work without it but once
you have it......
I bought the 6" Rotex and CT22 extractor prior to the price increase Apr 1, and it is nice. I've been using it attached to my saw boss to cut composite decking, and it works like a champ. Today I also used the sander and extractor to sand some Durabond. Although there was some dust, it wasn't enough to worry about.
My only complaint is the price of, well, everything. The disposable filter bags for the extractor are $35 a pop. You can buy reusable bags, but they are over $100 each. For that much, I'll have my daughter sew something up. God knows she's doing nothing much since finishing college last December.

The filter bags come in a set of 5 for that price, no?I've seen some good ideas on setting up a dust collector before the filter bag here http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=2983.0
Gets the big stuff out of the way and lets the bag collect the finer stuff (and not fill up as quickly)'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb
There's five? That would be great. I didn't see any quantity listed, so I'll check again, thanks

Sure looks that way. From McFeelys:"Type FIS-CT 22. Disposable filter bag for CT 22. Comes five per package."http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/452970/Disposable-Filter-Bag'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb
Yea, the paper bags are around $6 each. Plus - you can cut the bottom of them, empty them and tape it up nice and reuse them if need be.Want to be in a windy area blowing away from you to dump the sawdust, away from others of course...).JT
I've been do that all week, only I've been dumping them out thru the little hole, which requires a little bit of shaking. Fortuately the decking composite sawdust empties out pretty rapidly. Now I have a better way, thanks

I just empty them out like you do. I would be wary of cutting them, if that lets go then your going to have a huge mess and it would ruin the hepa's. There's a little paper flap that is inside the disposable bag, if you take that out it will empty much faster.I would probably have someone sew something up too. I could never sleep again if I paid nearly $200 for a dust bag.
I found that flap and ripped it out my 2nd or 3rd time emptying the bag.

The kid graduates on Sat., and been on one interview since getting home in Dec. We're thinking of bringing the MIL up north, and having the listless, unemployed daughter be gamma's 24 haur-a-day caregiver until she gets a real job. Maybe that will motivate her, lol.
