I’ve got the greatest wife and three kids in the world. But to the rest of you who are almost as lucky as me, happy fathers day. – jb

JB, I join you in your salutation to the fathers.

What made this day even more special was listening to an Albanian missionary deliver his hardhitting message this morning. He spoke of the real truth that is not being told to us about what is going on over there. His expressive words made a big impact on me. His name is Vladimir Dervishi, if you hear of him coming to a place near you, I suggest you go listen to him.

The tie-in to Father's Day--to me, at least--is how I/we are blessed to be in this country. We take so much for granted and, ashamedly, we grumble too much. So, do enjoy this day.

*Happy Fathers day to you guys as well, even dickey. I have a pretty great wife and daughter too. Breakfast in bed and my 4 year old daughter serinaded me most of the day. This is how you know life is good.L

*I'm lucky enough to have fine family, too ( including my own dad), but to celebrate my youngest son's graduation from high school(with honors, I might add) and the fact that soon all my children will be gone (at least they're supposed to be), I grilled THEM all steaks! They did wash the dishes, though.I had to dry.A pater waitin' for a tomater, BB

*Just thought I would post an old photo of my father and grandfather for you to see. My grandfather has been gone for 22 years now and my fahter still cries everytime he talks about him. Told me the other day that he lost the best friend he ever had when my grandfather passed away. I took two old photos from grandma's collection and had them blown up and framed for my father on father's day. The one photo is here below and the other is much later in time, of my dad and grandfather working together, building the block garage at my grandmother's house.Pay no mind to my Aunt picking her nose...she insists she was scratching it. She's my father's twin sister by the way. She is 5' tall he is 6'2". When she worked as a waitress, years ago, she would tell troublesome guy customers that she'd have her twin brother come down and straighten them out. They of course said "go ahead" figuring he was 5' tall too, I suppose, much to their unfortunate surprise. The Photo is circa 1940View ImageHappy Father's Day, Dad.(pretend I posted this yesterday, would ya?)

*O.K. Pete,'Fess up. I've checked the source. How did you post that photo without using the " attachments" feature?

          3. Guest_ | Jun 22, 1999 08:18pm | #7

*Jim,Thank you sir. I know we all have our differences of opinion but all in all I still like all the guys here. One of the best things is to be able to disagree with friends without making enemies.Pete Draganic

*Mark,Using the attachment feature gives only a link to a photo which then can be viewed if desired by others. I prefer to force feed them to you. I figure if I go through all the trouble to scan and post it, by god, you're gonna look at it.Anyhow, all you need to do is include something like this in your message. It is an HTML command. Replace the parenthesis with the greater than and less than symbols.(img src="http://www.whatever.com/mypage/mypicture.jpg" height=300 width=400 border=0 alt="")Of course you need to change the URL & picture name to your correct one and get the height and width right for your picture or it will look distorted. I use "photomagic" to check the size of my piture and reduce or enlarge when neccessary. It gives me the right size of the picture to put into the coding. There may be a way to post the picture without specifying dimensions but I am not sure right now. I think if you don't specify them it will show the poic at it's size as detrmined by pixels not physical size in inches. In that case, this photo would be twice the size of your screen. By taking a larger resolution photo and shrinking it on here, you get better clarity.By the way, your photo has to be stored on your homepage site somewhere. ones posted through the attachment feature get stored at Taunton's server.Pete

*Pete,I have often wondered as I look through my own families' photos in the 30's and 40's.........why didn't they ever "smile"? When did "cheese" come about?BTW, I don't care whether your aunt is picking her nose or not. I would just imagine I would have a good time with her today. I bet she is just a pisser!Jeff
