Anyone have any tips for hanging hardiplank? At the Remodeling show in Chicago, I stopped by the Malco booth and they had a pair of shears that can be added to a cordless drill. Is that preferrable to cutting with a masonry blade on a chop saw? I also noticed they’ve got spacing clips, etc.
Should I set up pump jacks with a pick or off a ladder? Or is it worth renting a lift?
Anything that will speed the process will be helpful since we’re stuck waiting until Dec. 4th for the windows. (Homeowner changed the side windows yesterday!)

Run a search, there's some great threads in the archive discussing just about every aspect of hanging F/C siding. From cutting, to installing, to working solo.... it's been hashed and re-hashed here a number of times. Have a look..... I'm sure it'll be worth your time.
i prefer the shears, the dust you get from a saw is terrible. i got my shears at HD for about $200. i use a jigsaw for notches, elect. boxes, etc.. have lots of blades.

Also, just in case, get a diamond blade.
