The old house I’m working on has 6 panel doors that are about 1 1/4″ thick. Some of the latches need to be replaced and I’d like to use a modern, conventional lockset.
Where can I find a lockset for skinny doors like these?

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

Schlage Locksets fit a 7/8" bore instead of 1". Should save you just enough room.

Thanks. I'll check it out to make sure the knobs will fit the width.

I see what you mean now Don.
I've got a Schlage sitting in front of me 1¼" is about the minimum you can go. There are 2 'tails' on the interior body of the lockset I'm holding, taking those down slightly with a file would tighten the fit. Hopefully a person wouldn't have to shorten the screws too.Be Constructive
