When we do flat 3/4″ casings on doors, we often see the latch hitting the casing edge and dinging it, before it gets picked up by the lip of the strike plate.
We’re doing the usual 3/16″ reveal off the jamb edge.
Anyone have a hardware solution for this? We don’t want to open the reveals.

We've gotten long tongued Tee (shaped) strikes from our local lock shop as special order. I don't know if you can elongated Dee strikes.
A chamfer on the casing does it sometimes.
Just did a job with 1 1/2" thick casing, ended up with a 5/8" reveal for latch clearance, not much meat to fasten to. I thought about grinding down the latches<G>
Don't worry, we can fix that later!
sure, surface mount box locks.
