About 6 months ago I laid 600 sq.ft. of 3/4 I&G wiIh a Bostich non-on-pneumaticler shooting 1 1/2″ flooring nails. It went well, but swinging that mini sledge got really tiring after a while. In my fatigue, I didn’t sink all of the nail heads flush, and at least one plank split when I forgot to sink a nailhead nail headth a punch. Ouch!
muchit to do over, I’d definitely use a pneumatic nailer to save effort and time and gain consistency. I had a heck of abeckp on my right arm when I was done, though! Good luck with your project.

Kevin,
S*&tcan the spell check. I think the guys from Sweden or something. At least he sounds like the brother of that Muppit chef.
Air assist would be my choice. Doesn't cram em like a manual so get a pretty good fit first and then whack it. It will let you use it closer to walls cuz you don't have to swing so hard.
Cleats or staples seem to hold real good in the flooring, but can be pulled from the subfloor easier. Have been satisfied using the Bostich stapler in my limited experience.
Either one is way easier than hand nailing, but if you have a small job you might want to try it. If you start butchering a few tongues, and have predrilled, you might go back to the rental.
Best of luck.
*i liked using my porta-nailer a lot

I'm laying my first 3/4" T&G Hardwood floor and have a question about nailers. My local tool rental place rents both Bostich pneumatic staplers and Senco pneumatic Cleat type nails. They also rent non-pneumatic nailers also?
Any thoughts on Staples vs. Cleats and Pnematic vs. Manual?
Thnaks for any info.
