I am building a new home in Michigan. I plan to install hardwood floors in the living/dining rooms. I’m looking to use 3/4″ red oak nail down. Is the cost of pre fininshed worth it? Should I use unfinished ? Can anyone recommend brands? I’m looking at Mirage.

Ryan, I have used mirage 3/4" hardwood flooring on the last three homes I have built, and it is a very good product. Much better than Bruce for sure. Mirage put's 7 yes, 7 coats of polyuretane on the product. The attention to milling is far superior than others.I am buying it out of Canada for $4.90 sq.ft. I am currently waiting for a 900sq.ft order the lead time was a month for the particular sytle the owners want.
