Wear? Pre-finished is much better. Price? About the same at the end for the same grade, wood and finish, Though you tend to get better lengths with site finished.

The better grades of site finished hardwood are superior by far to any pre finished product. Wearability is dictated by the number of coats of finish applied. Site finished hardwood is a dusty, time consuming process. If I was going to install hardwood in a home that was occupied, I would definately recommend pre finished hardwood.
