That's quite a ways from the first pics you showed us when it was still just dirt.

    Way to go !

If I survive, I have survived.

But if I have enriched someone else's life, I have succeeded.

Thanks for the positive feedback!  For me it's easy enough to make the framing look pretty good - that's what I have the most experience at.

24 x 32 on each level / two stories over a basement.  Enclosed and finished, but not heated porches on east and west.

Dark brown dyed concrete floor in the basement with four large windows facing south.

Siding will be Hardi Cedarmill 6 1/4".

Roof will be Metal Sales "Pro Panel II" in patina green.

Sheetrock in few weeks - good thing I have two strong sons or I'd be hurtin for certain.Something is what it does.

How old are the boys? My oldest is just shy of four, so he`s been of minimal assistance during framing....`bout to start rockin`....gonna put him to the test, LOL.

Besides, if he doesn`t do the best of work, my brother (the taper) will make it all look great.

My daughters are dieing to paint...I`m pretty certain that by the time I`m ready for it, I`ll be more than happy to hand em each a roller.

You and your boys are getting so much done!

Neat framing job.  You won't have to foam spray many holes and cracks there.;-)

That is a great house, one to be proud of.:-)

    Hasbeen,

Looks good. I like to see the blocking next to the headers, for mounting window coverings. It's surprising how often I'm asked ,why I put those in. I also run blocking, at handrail height in the stairwell walls. Then you can layout your handrail brackets, wherever you please. Keep up the good work!

     Brudoggie

    1. hasbeen | Mar 01, 2004 07:03pm | #12

Handrail blocking is already in, along with blocking behind where door knobs will swing against walls, blocking for bathroom grab rails, even let in 3/4 ply scraps for towel bars.   IMERC encouraged me with a list of things to do for the blocking maniac.

ALL:  Thanks for your kind words and words of encouragement.  It's appreciated!Something is what it does.

Glad to see all of that fine work I saw coming to light. Everything with a purpose and a place.

Did you capture the the post I did on blocking some time back...

        Here fishy fishy....

I`m the same way with blocking....anything I think I might possibly install, I prep for in advance with blocking. My building inspector asks me what I`ve got against toggles? LOLJ. D. Reynolds

about gave up posting, comcast really hosed up tonight (Renton), fat chance they will put a $1 discount on the bill without waiting on the phone for 1/2 hour to complain

didn't realize you were just down the road till a few weeks ago.

How long did it take you for your permits to get thru King Co. ??

Congrats on the basement, one of the houses up the street in new packemin subdivision (I'm just inside the urban growth boundary, bad for me, good forthe heirs<G>) had to put the footing 7 ft deep due to soil instability - those turkey backfilled vs having a basement.  Asked the resident realtor there WHY: "basements dont sell here"
