Hi Folks – I’m new to this group but I can see there are some great responses. I have just built a fence and want to achieve the grey look that comes with aged cedar. I think this was cavered once in a back issue but mine get passed on to my son. Any solutions?

Thanks very much for the info. The other two replies suggest I wait & let nature take it's course which, at this time of year, is probably the prudent way to handle the situation. By next summer it probably will have turned the way I want it.

For what it's worth, urine will hasten the greying. You can buy animal urine at pet and garden stores ($$) or collect some of your own.
A novel idea but how is it applied? I can't imagine brushing or spraying - and please suggest the obvious.

I agree. I put up a fence with 2x6 fir rails and a year later they are grey.
