Hey fellas,
I have been searching the archives for posts about mobile tool storage methods. I am planning on getting a new truck/trailer setup soon since my current mode of tool transportation is running out of room (not to mention it being a pile of rust). I thought it would be a great way to get some ideas for planning the organization of my new rig if everyone could post photos of their own traveling tool corrals. I know alot of you have aready posted pics, but should still repost here.
I’ll start. Here’s my old “BURBASAURUS”
custom touches include: ladder/plywood rack on top, level rack made out of PVC, cord/hose hooks, fold-up butcherblock workbench mounted to cargo door.

Excellent discussion topic. I've been thinking about tool storage for quite a while. My biggest problem is that I don't have a garage and my storage container is running out of space. I have a pickup truck with a raised canopy and a sliding truck box that is great for loading and unloading without breaking your back.
I have been looking at trailers to store and transport my tools between jobs. I wouldn't have to pick and choose which tools to take with me and everything would stay together. The double axle aluminum skinned covered trailers seemed to be the answer. Then, I saw a solid steel covered stock trailer that can be custom ordered.
The benefit of the steel trailer is especially nice since it would be extremely difficult to break in. The aluminum skinned trailers seem rather easy to break into. My other concern is denting the skin. The cost is about 30% more but I think I'll save up and get one.
So, did I ask the wrong question here....you all seem to be shy, I figured you would all jump at a chance to showcase and compare your rigs.
Of course they don't have to be pretty (look at mine, it's a POS).
Like I said, I just thought it would give me and others some inspiration for organizing our own setups.
Our vehicles/trailers are our pride and joy, it is your office, its your workshop, it is sometimes your breakroom. Be proud and show it off.

I guess I missed this when it first came up. You've got some pretty good organization there. I'll try to post a pic of my parts bin later today.Who Dares Wins.
Great, I hope some of the other guys will post too...or if they don't mind I might just search the archives and grab their pics. I don't know if that is taboo to do though.

Gabe,

DieselPig and Paul Paradis have posted pics of their trailers, I think some others from BT might have posted there as well.

That is one of my favorites!
They advertise in each issue of FH. Someone that makes a rig that is basically a king-sized extra-heavy-duty full-extension drawer for the back of a truck. Allows you to organize your whole kit, and then pull it out, exposing all for access and reload, no climbing over anything required.
Check these guys out :)

Yeah, that's Ol'Bob at the saw there. I spoke to him about the trailers and I really like them but the prices are just out of my league.
The standard 16' Toolmaster is around $7000.
Maybe when I become a "rich carpenter".....as if that's possible.

Diesel pig has a sweet set up, F350 with utility bed and a trailor...
Mine is just a crossover box and 2 side boxes, they hold almost everything I'd like them too, minus the table saw and mitersaw, which will be going in a trailor one of these days..
I thought I would add Pro-deck's truck with his sweet roll out bed.

I designed my own for the burbasaurus but figured the bolts would never hold considering all the rust.....I designed/built the roof rack instead.

I guess while I am searching more I will post some links to other notable truck/trailer setups....
Mike Smith's trailer has the simplest approach to shelving. makes me wonder why anyone wouldn't have shelves.
