I found the Heartland appliance website through this discussion group, and while the style of the legend series is perfect for our cottage remodel, the price (legend series, dual fuel range 30″ wide, and 36″ refrigerator ) is way, way, way higher than other appliances we have looked at. I can’t find much information on these products from people who own them or have installed them. Are they worth the money?
They are available in a range of porcelain on enamel, which appeals to me so much more than stainless steel- all those fingerprints, and everybody’s got one…

We've had a 5-burner electric Heartland Range for about 9 years and it is a good quality product. Weighs about 550 lbs.
I believe we got ours for about $3800, but I see the same stove is about $4700 now.
BTW, the finish is not stainless, but nickel and is a really good heavy plating job.
The only issue I have is with the built-in exhaust which pulls through what would be the pie-warmer on a wood burner: It couldn't pull the smoke off a birthday candle, and it sits back so it is totally ineffective for items on the front burner.
So I am building a hood to go over the whole unit...our house is log and timber frame and I have plenty of ceiling space so the hood I'm fabricating should complement the style of the kitchen (I hope).
I considered the frig, but they'd just come out with them and were having some problems...and it wouldn't have worked in the space we had for it anyway.
The design is good, with the compressor on top....but they are spendy.
