I've had a Venmar AVS Solo in my 1700 sq ft (exceedingly tight) house since I built it 5 years ago, recommended by my ductwork guy. My model, or at least my controller, has you dial in outside temps and it adjusts its duty cycle. Has high (stinky cooking) and low (we use when the RFH house lags a touch if outside temps drop 50F in a day) settings. A fancier controller would have an outside temp sensor. About $1000?
It has done fine - no icing up (it cycles itself), very quiet (that will mostly depend on ductwork sizing). I should clean it every 3 months but often forget. Heck, I often don't floss every night.
A dishwasherable HX makes clean-up easier. Dishwasherable both in terms of temp and detergent compatibility but also that is FITS in your dishwasher.
Thanks, I appreciate your input.
...must be beautiful up there.
enjoy the winter!
