Remodeling a small house that has 660 suare deet on the ground level and a basement of the same size.
The house wall insulated with Icynene (foam) and the heat loss of the house made by the installer of the Icynen foam is 20,000 BTU hour. I am looking for a heating system to heat the whole place but have not found one yet.
The house is located in Pittsburgh Pa.
I was thinking of using electrical heat, all the wiring was install for that purpose. I have looked around and have found electrical heaters at Home Depot that are resistance Heat (Is that the correct word????/) but I am concerned that my daughter my burn herself badly if she touches it.
I have no ductwork in the basement and the ceilling are only 7″6′. I am using the basement for the batroom, two bedrooms and a laundry room. If I were to decide to go to gas heat I have a head room concern since I am 6’1″ tall.
I have check the Hydrosil website, it lools like a good product. Are they some other companies that offer the same thing so I can shop around.
Lots of ideas. Maybe I am just a confused consummer. Need some input from some pros that can help me make a proper decision.
Thanks for the help

Do you have a gas supply?
Consider hydronic heating with a super small wall-mounted gas boiler, or possibly a water heater.
I would definitely go with a hot water heater/forced air system. Aquatherm is one brand name. They are very simple, give nice warm air, and your hot water heater is your "furnace". Hot water is pumped from the water heater to a coil in your air handler. I had this system in a 3000sqft home and really liked it.
The ductwork can be narrow(like 6"), but wide and still be very effective. Also you definitely want to bring the vents down to the floor in a basement, so use the wallspace as duct runs.
Just my opinion, good luck.
