heavydutytools.net – gone or temporary?

ToolFreakBlue | Posted in Tools for Home Building on November 23, 2006 08:17am

Just tried to look around HeavyDutyTools.net and the site is down.   Is it temporary or has anybody heard that they closed shop?

My bookmark comes back with “not authorized”.   It was up just a couple of days ago.

I hope its just a server issue on one end or the other.

Anyone know?

This is what I just got.

"HeavyDutyTools.net Will Be Closed Thursday November 23rd. We Are Preparing Our Black Friday Specials.

We Will Reopen At 8:00 AM Eastern Time On Friday November 24th "

    Learn to wait Grasshopper.

      What a relief!

      "Learn to wait..."?

I want to shop NOW. instant gratification you know.  But I'll wait for HDT.

      Thanks for the info.

I've been meaning to check out this site. Are they priced lower than Amazon? It definitely does not make sense to take down your whole site to add specials.

They are competitive.   The customer service is reportedly awesome, though I have never needed to use it.

One thing I really like is that when you select an item you stay at HDT and are not redirected to amazon like so many of the online tool sources.

It might when you are a one man show and are trying to make sure what inventory you have to offer on Black Friday.

I bought some stuff from T&J tools, service was awesome, also a one man show by John Balser.  http://www.tandjtools.com/ I recommend anyone take a look at his site.

Any emails from them/him this weekend?   The site has been down for a couple of days.    Things sold quick on Friday but the website was updated constantly for In Stock/Out of Stock.   A bit different than price changes and discounts though.

I'm hoping they come back up at 8:30 eastern (8 min) but I am a little worried again.

Just talked to Mark.  He was swamped Fri and things are bound up.  He was out on some business and should get it fixed shortly.  He said he had about 4000 e-mails since Fri.

I have put up a temporary page while we continue to pick orders. We were getting so many unfinalized & pending orders that it was taking forever to weed through them. The first 150 or so tracking #'s have gone out with more to come. Anyone with questions can email me directly mark at heavydutytools.net :)

Keep it up and we won't be able to call you "Poor Boy".

.. with these deals , you can start calling me "negative cash" Mark :)

I meant to say "You lose a little on each sale but make it up in volume".

Cheer up, if it takes 30 seconds to process each order/e-mail you will be done in a little over 22 hours.

Man get put on their mailing list. they never hassle you with jusnk mails. It's all good email. daily or weekly specials.

I think I did it through their site. It;s the only way to go. Especially if the sale item is of a small quantity. Then then you can jump right on it.
