I have to ask, umm, what's a bird table?

      1. calvin | Feb 17, 2009 07:52pm | #3

        Two things come to mind.

A really tiny table with perches.

I can't have feeders here due to having two cats, it's not fair to the birds.

Also, people often complain that birds roost and poop on buildings and cars..make nests on downspout elbows and generally P&M about them..

Almost every one that had a gutter plugged up or a nest, also had a bird feeder out in the yard.

So is a cat feeder unfair to the dogs?  If you hang the bird feeder from a tree, can't the birds fly away when the cats show up?"Put your creed in your deed."   Emerson

            How many pets have you?

My cats are semi=feral, that means they kill for food, to supplement the food we provide. They also kill for fun, just because thay can, and the big thing to them is leaving the scat behind as a scent trail so the coy's don't have hot sniff for dinner.

Coy's here are getting drastic, locals doing snares ( horrid way to go) and it's Darwin..in your hood.

You feed birds, they become cat food ( or kill, they rareley eat the bird..) cats come and become coyote food (cats like to be noct, birds sleep) ..you get more coyotes, they breed w/ local bitches, and you have dogs like mine..they have "KILL CAT" nsync...these dogs are coydogs, and I can't be famous like the dog guy, I got mixed hybreds,

Damm. Don't get me going,,,,The Axtec thoughts are prime.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

We don't have any pets, never could find a replacement for the Golden after we lost him.  Didn't realize you had coyotes in your area."Put your creed in your deed."   Emerson

We're lousy with em. Local farmers set up snares to try and control them. Those are wicked on a cat or dog too, and not cool. But prbably better than poison.

My she-dog is a what the vet terms Coy-dog, she's coyote and blueheeler mix, so the 3 boys are 1/4 or coyote.

            whaddya know..heres one too.

Just a suggestion -- post over at Knots - the woodworking end of Taunton's site.

Hey, don't want no pigeon sh** on my head when he gets all those birds to come flyin' around in here! ;-)

Actually, it's just that the Knots crowd is more plan-oriented for that sort of project. Guys around here would just grab a couple of 2"x10"s, some trusses and a framing nailer and call it good.

Nice bird gazebo, BTW. I'm tempted myself. Got some leftover copper underfoot in the shop.

I spend roughly even amounts of time here and in Knots and I would grab......."a couple of 2"x10"s, some trusses and a framing nailer" as well as some wood filler and paint. - lol
