The more you pay, the more experienced I am.  Tell us more.

Good day to you sir. This job must finish ASAP, I had hired some individuals that were recommended to me from a friend (some friend) and it has not turned out positively. There are a number of Marvin windows that must be trimmed out with Azek and after that the interior is to be trimmed out as well. Only a couple of hitches with a few round top windows, but besides that fairly straight forward.

    Where in Essex County?

I'm currently living in South Plainfield, but within the month will be in Wanaque, NJ.

As far as experience goes? I've been a carpenter for 34 years, with my own business for the last 16.

Nah. I'll stand on your shoulders <G>

You finish your basement job yet?

        1. tashler | Jun 12, 2009 12:56am | #5

Kind of. Livable. Bunch of built-ins to make. They got the carpet in, and my dad and I set up the flat screen and the recliners, so all's well for the time being.Doing a trim job in Bloomingdale and my friend's bath in West Milford now.Did you do that job up north with Don?Glenn

          1. Shep | Jun 12, 2009 01:05am | #6

Yup. It worked out real well. The rot wasn't as extensive as we originally thought. We finished everything in 2 days.

I saw at JLC that you got the Makita saw and guide. How do you like it?

          2. tashler | Jun 12, 2009 02:39am | #7

I like it bit I've got nothing to compare it to. I've used it some but not enough yet to really be enthusiastic.I had to tune up the base plate and I'm not sure I've made it perfectly true yet.Glenn

          3. DonCanDo | Jun 12, 2009 04:43am | #8

Yup. It worked out real well.

I agree.  It was one of those times that I felt that 2 people did more than twice the work of 1 person working twice as long.  (gee, that sounds funny, I hope it makes sense).

I hope we get a chance to work together again.

Greetings to you Mr Shep. This job must finish post haste and ASAP to boot...Montclair to be exact.....

      1. tashler | Jun 12, 2009 11:02pm | #11

Montclair? That sounds nice. There are some very nice houses there. Some very old and very expensive houses.Sounds like a winner.Glenn

        1. aworkinprogress | Jun 12, 2009 11:08pm | #12

Well it is indeed an interesting place. If it were not for the time constraint I might even be enjoying the whole project. Still waiting for a candidate.

If Shep is interested in the job, I'm sure you'll find him to be a good guy. I know I'd be happy to work with him.

          2. aworkinprogress | Jun 12, 2009 11:51pm | #14

This would be certain to sit well with me. I am glad to have the endorsement of the "BOSS" thank you for your input. Just be sure not to allow Mr Shep to read that, overly inflated egos and such. Ready when you are Mr. Shep.....

          3. Shep | Jun 13, 2009 04:06am | #15

I'm always interested in discussing potential jobs, but right now I couldn't start until mid-July.

If that works for you, let me know, and we'll set a time to get together.

          4. aworkinprogress | Jun 13, 2009 04:53am | #16

Unfortunately this needs to be wrapped up in a couple of weeks July 1st. So it remains open to the right person . Thanks Shep, for your reply

And here I thought that the economy was in a downturn.
