The news here in CA is showing a car chase in Dallas featuring a lumber truck dragging a flaming forklift down the freeway. Another Mensa member is making his getaway from the police. Looks like a nice day for a ride. Joe H

Yikes! Which freeway? I can see a bummer ride home coming...
Dave
*They've got him. Cops 1, Mensa 0.
*Yeah, I saw that too! I hope those were culls! Was that a HD delivery gone sour?Mike
*Loop 12......Bad place to drive anytime. Not too far from my shop.Ahhhhhh.....the mean streets of Dallas. It takes balls to live here.Ed.
*I saw that on the news...watched that flaming tire rolling away! Very bizarre.Rich Beckman
*When that flaming tire exploded off of the split rim it made me think of how you used to see the truckers check tires by smacking them with a tire iron at stops. Wouldn't want to hit one "just right". As a kid I worked at a dealership that serviced those kinds of tires. Their insurance agent showed us a film strip (ouch, I just dated myself there!) of an 165# mannequin kneeling on a split rim/tire that they were pumping air to. When that tire blew that dummy lofted about 20 feet. Very impressive. I told the boss that since I weighed only 148# that I should be able to hit 25 feet. Nowadays I might not clear 5 feet ;<)Thomas
*Just saw it on TV. No biggie, here in So cal thats a common occurance.... Now if it was some babe driving showing her shorts wellllllll....
*On the radio news on the way home, there was an FAA spokesman on. They are VERY angry at those news chopper pilots violating the ban. Talking about lifting their license.Lucky for me, it was the other way from home. Traffic better than usual up Central. Sure is odd finding out about something a mile away from a guy in California. ;-)Dave
*Since this was in Dallas, where was Cordell Walker when we need him?
*It was on the radio here, so I turned on the TV. Makes you wonder what these morons are thinking. Don't they notice the police always catch 'em? I keep thinking they oughta load some CMUs in the police helicopters. One 8" block through the roof would stop most of these bozos. Cops all across the country could have contests to see who was the best at block bombing. Sure would be more entertaining than just watching them go up and down the freeways with dozens of cops on their tail.Blocks Away! Splat! Joe H
*I saw an article in the paper today about the hot load of lumber, and it said the perp was a homeless guy who had been arrested about 6 mos ago for stealing a tow truck. It also said that at the beginning of the chase, the original driver was hanging onto the trailer as it drove away.
*Musta been some chase if it made news in California. But then again, that's probably all they show on the news there, gotta be entertainment, right?
*The police car chase channel! 24 hours a day live coverage of police car chases from all accross the country. Be the first to know when they turn downb yourstreet! Call your cable provider today to ask for it!Rich Beckman
*If you want dumb crooks you can have ours. In Oregon two men tried to rob a bank. They arrived 5 minutes before opening and while wearing masks shook the locked doors. The tellers called the cops and a chase ensued. The crooks ran off into the woods. Several hours later they called 911 from their cell phone and gave the cops their location in the woods (they were tired and hungry). They were sentenced to twenty years in jail.
*My favorite is the guy who tried to run away from the cops at night. He had on those fancy tennis shoes with the lights that blink every time you take a step. He almost got away because one of the cops collapsed laughing. ;-)-- J.S.
