Am remodeling a small bathroom where the distance from the front of the current toilet to the wall is 17.5 inches. Would like to install a high-rise toilet but am having trouble find one that is not elongated. Sure don’t want to have less room than I’ve already have in front of the toilet.
Any ideas?
Are the ones equipped with Fluidmaster all they are bragged up to be?
Thanks,
Bob

Somebody makes elongated toilets that fit in the footprint of round-front ones - ask at a good plumping supply house.
You want an elongated bowl unless you can guarantee, absolutely, that no males, of any age, will ever use it!

If I'm logic-impaired, help me out here... are elongated bowls a bad idea if men will use them or a good idea?

"Manly equipment" works much better with an elongated bowl. Bigget target when standing - more commodious when sitting.
I am the lone female in a family of 4 males...
Got it. Thanks. And tactful as well.
I will consider condoning commodious commodes.

A truly gentlemanly reply!
I think the issue here is knee room. (But if the space is that cramped, why would one want a high-rise (handicapped) toilet?)
If ignorance is bliss why aren't more people
happy?

In this case I would guess it is more a comfort issue rather than true handicapped accessability. Many people like the ease of getting up and down with the slightly higher seat level. I think the newer ones are not quite as high as the older ones used to be. American Std makes an elongated that has the same projection as a round front.
