I’ve been using My new NT65M (with the depth adjustment) this week after buying it this weekend. It works GREAT, and I still love the magazine build…….the only thing I modified was the nose foot (with the plastic surface protector on it for protection of surfaces while nailing). I found that I wanted it to be ABLE TO set nails a bit deeper than the gun would allow from the factory at full deep setting. On many crown and baseboard situations I want to nail at a BIT of an angle. With the setting they went down to maxed-out, it just didn’t leave me trouble free of EVERY nail head being sunk when I nailed with a bit of “english” on the gun into a corner or such. It meant I would have to pull the ol’ nailset out too often. This would happen if I was going fast and not getting the full, absolute push, on the gun. I like to be able to “rock” when I can. What fixed this was completely adjusting the foot shallower until it came off the gun, then I filed down the threaded end about another 1/16th” or so. I like to be able to sink deeper if needed. That did the trick for those slightly offset nailing, fast runs, my boss loves to see and I don’t have to back up because of non-set nail heads. I’m one that never leaves those for the painter NOT to get set. TRY IT!! My 15GA. MAX angle nailer toenails much better than this gun at full adjust, without the protector on, but everything else on this Hitachi is Ti**……IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, LOL! |

Just wanted to bump this back up front so maybe a few more might see how to get a bit more versatillity from this Hitachi, it is very handy to be able to put a little more on it when you need. This will be my last run for this.
