Here are some photos of some holiday lighting and receptacles in the soffits I did at my house. The objective was to provide power to icicle lights which are run around the entire house. This being done without the use of extension cords and having them switched from a convenient location inside the house.
I ran a power circuit through the lutron lighting system up to a J-box in the attic. Then I star-wired runs to all four corners of the house to receptacles tucked away in the peak of the gable soffits. Other outlets were daisy-chained together through the soffits providing power to every gable.
Now I’m able to run no more than three links of lights before another gable receptacle picks up the next run. I’ve cut and modified each run and labeled them so next year they’ll go right back in the same place.
This is a nice feature in any home. So you might suggest this to any new clients. The switch could be located in an entry closet, even wired to a timer.
Here’s the pictures, I welcome all comments and feedback.
Merry Christmas
Phil

I didn't get anylights up here this year, but I did get a remote control for 11 bucks that will turn off or on an outlet from anywhere in the house..rated for exterior use. Just a thought.
Have a cool yule.
