Didn’t FHB do a review of home design software a while back.
Could anybody please suggest some of their favorites. I’m interested in designing a barn/house with gambrel roof. First floor used for garage and shop and second floor for living area.
Thank.. Wedge

One of the top 10 questions asked here... You might want to try doing a search for things like CAD, etc here, there'll be plenty to read. Personally I use Chief Architect, have also used MiniCad (now Vectorworks). I like CA but as with all the better programs, the learning curve is steep and long. Good luck!

Do you want 2d or 3d capability?
Will the plans be used for permitting and bidding, or just working drawings?
Can you draw plans on paper the old fashioned way, or will this be your first venture into drafting?
