I’d like to elicit tips on what kinds of wall/ceiling finishes are recommended for a home theater. I know that acoustic reflectivity is important, and would like to hear what others have used to modify the walls. Room is 16wx20lx9tall. Carpet for the floor.
I think drywall will be too “live” for the walls. Perhaps a fabric covered fiber board?
Any other pointers are appreciated.
Thanks for the input.

Hard surfaces but non-parallel to reduce standing waves. (Diffuse shapes - convex bows in the 12-25 ft radius size are good - conave bows would be bad - focusing.) Actually, 5/8 or double half drywall would be better. Also, irregular spacing on studs so the drywall doesn't become a tuned absorber.
