Hood ductwork routing challenge
I want to install a wall-mount SS hood in a kitchen. Unfortunately, the existing roof penetration is about 10 inches to far to the left and 5 inches to far from the wall.
There is a suspended ceiling that gives me about 5″ of space to work in, but it is not enough to put in two elbows, and a flexible bend won’t offset enough.
I have three choices, it seems:
1. Cut a new hole in the roof and patch the old – flat roof, so this is almost sacrilege.
2. Have the hood fabricated with an offset vertical chimney – a little assymetrical, but, maybe?
3. Use some sort of flexible ducting – code?
Help!

I suppose you could build a sort of box plenum about 20 x 20 x 5" with dict inserts at the locations each would fit to it if you can find a good sheet metal man.
Being an old hot roof man. I see nothing wrong with moving the roof stack, but it ain't cheap.
