Has anyone seen these or tried one out?

It is an outdoor faucet that can put out hot water too, provided a hot water line is run to it along with a cold water line. It looks good for getting warm water out for washing the dog or having a bucket of warm water to wash the car with.
I am asking because the lead time on this is June 2007. It seems like there was a recall. Although it looks like a great product and can be found for $40 or so on Froogle.

I've always just used 2 separate faucets and connected them with a "Y" hose that is sold for washing machine hookups.
So one faucet was strictly hot water and the other cold? And when you wanted warm you just used the Y thing and adjusted the flow on each to make it as warm or cold as you like? That is a pretty good idea.Handyman, painter, wood floor refinisher, property maintenance in Tulsa, OK
Yes - one hot, one cold.
Y stays attached all the time.
Works exactly like any two handled faucet would.

The house we just finished has hot and cold out in the garage, the guy had some sort of Y on it, wasnt a washing machine hose but looked similar.
He's able to wash his cars in the garage all year long.
You have to run the hot water over so why not just put the extra faucet in.

Yes, I just may since the Moen faucet isn't available til June and the interior walls on the side where the outdoor faucet would be will be covered up by then. By chance does anyone recall what the code is for the distance of separation between a faucet and an outside electrical outlet is supposed to be, if there is such a code? I can always go to my building department and ask, they are a pretty cool bunch of guys.Handyman, painter, wood floor refinisher, property maintenance in Tulsa, OK
In these parts I have been informed by the inspector (Ontario) electrical outlet within 1 metre ( about 39 inches) of water source must be GFCI.

Well, every outdoor outlet must be GFCI here, so that's not a biggie.

Every outdoor outlet here also must be gfci in addition to anything within a metre of water.( I was quoting my local inspector)

Ahh thanks. It will be GFCI for sure. I will pay a visit to the building department soon. Last time I was there the plans for the new arena they are building here was laid out in a room, very neat to see :)Handyman, painter, wood floor refinisher, property maintenance in Tulsa, OK
When I was doing some plumbing in the area I hooked up our sillcock with two shutoff valves inside, one hot and one cold. If I want hot I just come inside, close one valve, and open the other. Yeah, you can't mix very well, but you usually don't need that.
I've seen it and it looks like a good product but we've been installing single lever Delta tub faucets, low end, with a boiler drain instead of a tub spout for years. just remind the homeowner to turn off the water at the shower valve and remove the hose and open the boiler drain in freezing weather. Works great in conjunction with an out door fish sink. Just run a 20' length of hose into a bucket under the outdoor sink and run the hose end up through the faucet hole to a pistol grip hose nozzle. Set the tub valve on the wall above the sink and run the drain into the gutter pipe. Presto freeze resistant outdoor sink. dog washing station and 20' reach to wash the car. I have a set up like this next to my Weber and turkey fryer. Great for cleaning fish.
Haven't put one of those on, but have done several "mop sink" faucets in garges before.
Did a really cool one for a customer once, used a shower valve & instead of a shower head or tub spout had a hose connection below the valve.

Have you ever been asked to put a bidet in a garage yet?
Hey, another plumbing question for you (when it rains, it pours).I have an outdoor shower that had a Moen frost free (so they said) single handed mixer. I have ball valves and gate valve spigots further down line in the basement, so I drain it well before the winter. Of course the plastic mixing core cracked. Is there any brand or alternate set up you would suggest?
Every brand I can think of has plastic parts on the inside.
You could go with a Leonard mixing valve their all brass, but they are pricy.
If it was me I would but a spigot on the bottom so when you shut it off for the winter you have a place to drain all the water out.“How many observe Christ’s birthday! How few, his precepts! O! ‘tis easier to keep Holidays than Commandments.” —Benjamin Franklin
Thanks, I will try that.
