yes this is contractor related, thats why I have it in biz section, dont know who else to ask
Have a house we built, that during the project , homeowner and I seriously talked ( e-mailed) eachother over 400 times, no bull.
I use hotmail. Does anyone know a way to save the whole file to a disk, rather then opening each e-mail and saving each one one at a stinking time

The easiest way may be to upgrade to the mid-level Hotmail email service which allows for access to your email through your computer's email program such as Outlook Express or Entourage. This is known, I think, as POP access.
It's very easy to setup (relatively) and they probably offer an upgrade of some sort that only costs about $25 a year or $4-5 month or something, and once you've got it setup, you merely set up the email account to get all the messages off the server.
This is really a much better way of doing email anyway, and you'll appreciate it down the line for sending and recieving attachments and such, and ingeneral it'll be much easier and faster to check your email. Plus, as you'll realize - it makes backing up your email a lot easier.

Hotmail premium will do POP3, but there are also free servers for POP3 email, that will download to your outlook/eudora/thunderbird automatically. I just started using a site called bluebottle.com for email- it's more secure than hotmail, and it's free. i can check it from my home computer or via the web.
That said, i still use hotmail for the junkmail i expect to recieve- when i order online, say, i use that address.

Thanks
I use personal hotmail with OE and have never paid a cent. It's been so long I don't remember how but I don't think it was hard.

Back in the day you could do that, there's a chance they have changed it so that newer accounts can only be accessed via web based. I could be wrong - it'd be something to check out.JT
I am using Freepops.org to allow me to access my netscape webmail account using Thunderbird. Thunderbird is a free mail program based upon Mozilla which is what Netscape 7.x mail program was based on. Freepops can be used to acces most IMAP (webmail) e-mail on POP type programs (IE, Netscape, Eudora, Thunderbird). It makes backing up so much easier.Frank DUValYou can never make something foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
Same here, been using POP access for years with Hotmail, I remember hearing they were doing away with it, but it's never affected me.

Have you thought about registering a domain name with someone like 1and1 and setting up hosting with full email services? Not terribly expensive, and you can create lots of email, get POP3/SMTP email service included.
