Most of the house plans services I have looked at are of houses for big lots and large frontages. Mainly suited for rural or suburban areas. I am looking for plans for houses that are on narrow lots better suited for the city.

So nobody does plans for urban houses?
Probably only for town or row houses, which can be "spec" drawn. The sero-lotline 5 and 10 foot separation lots vary too much to make good generic plans.
I could, in the greater grander scheme of things, but it's also my biz, so, after the site visits, the client consultations, and everything else--it's not likely to be cheap.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
I've seen books of plans for urban and narrow lots, but that was years ago. Don't give up looking, someone must still publish plans for such lots.
Try doing a search using terms like:
New Urbanism
TND's (Traditional Neighborhood Development)
I used to work at this TND: http://www.doemill.org , but there are many others...
Try The Congress for New Urbanism, too.
Hope this helps,
darcy
PS Just found it: http://www.cnu.org At this site you can look up architects in your area who specialize in New Urbanism.
