how do I set my framing square for an octagonal hip rafter

I am about to frame an octagon silo with an octagonal hip roof. I know that when framing a rectangular roof hip I should set the level cut of my framing square at 17, but what do I set it at for the hip rafter of an octagonal roof?

Drag out your old high school geometry book and work it out.
And when that effort turns out to be a bust, build a mock-up.
Been a long time since I did one but believe the hip is set on 13. Commons are set on 12.
Maybe Calvin will check in since he is expert at this.

This an interesting story I came across.
hope it doesn't confuse the issue.

Calvin,
I didn't understand Fusco's explanatios either.
Easy way to do it would be to pop some lines on the floor and either use a framing square or bevel gauge to get the angles.
