I’ve been a carpenter for 11 years and I
am finally going out on my own. One
question I have to you pro’s is how do
you charge to put up crown molding- do
you charge by the foot, or is it by the
foot plus each cope ? I’ve been putting
it up for years, I just wasn’t sure how
to charge.

John,
I seem to do ok at an hour a piece plus material. Try to stay away
from anything under a full day though. I try to do
at least two rooms or bump the price to cover selling
the job, chating with the client, setup etc. I live
in St.Louis, do remodel only, and usually only do
paint grade stuff. Good luck.
*I just had a interior trim bid in which the crown went by the foot *and* by the cut.
