Two tons approximately.
Around here would go into a recycled blend dumpster- 10 CY would do it easily I think.

two tons minimum....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
You might check around, we have a disposal place that takes concrete and cinder block debris for 6.00/ton instead of the 81.00/ton we pay at the landfill.
I pay more than most on this site, for disposal of demo, but clean masonry debris is cheap. If you throw it in a regular box it would be $99/ton. If you seperate it , & deliver it to th the to them, it is $13/yard.
Tipping fee on that chimney would be $26 /smart,...or $350 not so smart.

Used bricks, you haul, tomorrow only (or whatever).

I figure brick at 40# pre square feet. So I'd guetsimate your chimney at about 160# per vertical foot, or pretty close to the 2,000# total number that a couple of guys threw out.
Around here farmers often have a ditch they wanna fill in with old bricks or concrete. Might be worth asking about if you have a way to haul it.
The other gents suggested 2 tons, not 2,000#. But your #40/sf, does get me close to the other estimates. Thanks. Want some bricks? Free to you!
