I’m building my first house in eastern Oregon (45 degrees lat.), moderately cold intermountain climate. What R value do you recommend for walls, ceiling, and basement for a “well insulated” house? What do you recommend as the best and most economical way to construct walls to get there? At what point does the added expense of more insulation exceed the increase in insulation efficiency and energy savings? thanks!
