Can someone out there help me walk through the construction sequence for 1900’s style balloon framing. Studs, ledgers, joists, subfloor, headers, sheathing… How much was done on the ground, how much on a ladder? How did they work on a tight site like a Boston triple-decker? Did they know the second floor window openings when they nailed the studs to the sole plate?
