How to patch hole in torch-down roofing?
Hi all you roofers,
I need to patch a 2-inch round hole in a torch-down flat roof where there used to be a plumbing vent. How would I do that?

Hopefully you can get a 6 inch by 6 inch piece somewhere without buying the whole roll, use your plumbing torch and a metal trowel or your wide old wood chisel in a pinch, heat the right side down and go over the edges, make the seams run with the melted tar, dont worry how it looks its not meant to be pretty you want waterproof
You want a pro job done right of jst to get by/
;)
Take a slip of metal cut to aabout 4x4 up to maybe 6x6.
Get a tube of Geocell
Lay the metal over the hole and trace around it.
Use the geocell to goop up the surface inside the line.
Mash the metal into the geoell.
Nail it down with a nail every 2". Ring shank good idea.
Then get a patch of modified to burn down over it.
If that is not easy to find or do, geocell has a roof path kit available with some paintable slop and a re-inforciong membrane to cover it all with.
All this is based on having a fairly clen smooth surface where the hole is. If it is all gaumy aroundthe hole, cut the metal patch to at least 2" beyond edges of the slop. and dig enough of the crud off so it can lay flat.

Thanks guys.
glop on about a quart of fibered roofing cement.
The only thing that would do is waste about a quart of fibred roof cement.
