Hi all..
I am preparing to reglue parts of a parquet made from little 1×5 inch oak tiles. The guys at the home stores say to scrape the old glue off the wood tiles with a knife. This is finicky and does not work well. It might take all weekend to do twenty square feet of little tiles.
Is there a better way to remove the old glue? Is it worth getting a bench grinder with wire wheel? Any other fast methods?
Thanks for your help..

If you have a bench, (or an old table or something to substitute), you can use a belt sander for very quick removal.
Get two strips of some material, (metal, wood, whatever.), that is not as thick as the tiles. Fasten those strips on the top of your work surface in an 'L' shape. Lay the tile on the work surface, up against the 'L' and the belt sander will make very quick work of the glue. You can do all the pieces very quickly. This jig saves more than enough time and effort to justify itself.
