I rented one recently and it worked fine. Is the pad on corrctly and smoothly? Grit too coarse? Pressing to hard?
Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell'em "Certainly, I can!" Then get busy and find out how to do it. T. Roosevelt
Try it on a ceiling...after 2 minutes your shoulders will ache..then you burr the mud...then you touch it up...then you hand sand the touch up. On angles it does not work. The handle is too wide for your hand..that oval shape is not hand friendly...it's too heavy. A good respirator will give your lungs a great workout thus no need for aerobics! It's too slow to work with...just an idea that is not practical. Gypsum dust is found in beer, toothpaste and used in wine making..so a little here and there is good for ya ;-)
There's a review of this unit in JLC this month. The reviewer says PC specs 100 grit, but he settled on 120 grit after trying 180.
I looove mine. Slow it down a little bit, finer grit, lighter touch, don't stop at change of direction( make sweeping motions). It's a tool - you need to learn to work WITH it.

Then Click on Currnet issue or go to Reseach and then select this issue.
I think that was in one of the regular feature areas and many of them are free online.
