A customer home has no ventilation from soffits. Blocked off by plywood under vynyl. Home has a ridge vent and 2 gable vents on one side none on other (garage addition) Had A/C unit installed in attic since than humidity level very high. When he turns on fan level comes down. He spoke to A/C people and they claim unit is fine. If I open vents in sofit will this help? Attic has insulattion with some gaps and insulation runs right to end of soffit Again Thank you

Describe your AC unit more, please. Does it ventilate? All supply/return duct in attic? Are they new ducts? Were the ducts sealed?
If running the fan reduces the humidity ... are we talking summer use here?
In a closed system (supply and return, no ventilation) the humidity shouldn't change just from running the fan. The AC system is a dehumidifier by nature, so cooling use should reduce humidity. Need more information.
AC is 3 ton And supply and return in attic. Customer says return located by bathroom All ducts run in attic I hope that helps going to send an ac guy there. cant say I know great deal about ac units Thank you
Not clear. Is this a finished/occupied attic, or unoccupied? What area is the AC unit serving? Why is the AC unit running in the middle of winter?
Ac unit runs in summer. attic unfinished. Not sure on ac system Ac serve 4 bedroom house. Soffits are closed off vynyl over plywood
Is it just the AHU in the attic, or the entire thing? If the AC condenser is in the attic, is the exhaust ducted to the gable or somewhere else, to keep it out of the attic? Where is the humidity high -- in the attic or in the house?Generally, when humidity is too high in an air-conditioned house, the problem is that the AC is oversized and doesn't run long enough.

How do you notice the high humidity? Is the drain from the AC properly routed to the outside?(Consider answering ALL the questions. They're asked for a reason.)

I will revisit customer with list of questions and repost. And I do wish I paid attention in high school
Are all exhaust fans vented positively to the outside or do they vent to the attic?
Is the A/C coil in the AHU draining to the outside?
Have you checked the attic condition this winter? Checked for ice on the underside of the roof sheathing?
