Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

M. Maus, check the tools for homebuilding folder[top of the page]. There is a thread there on hvlp's.I'm sure some of the posters on that thread said they had sprayed latex, dont remember what unit they were useing.
I recently tried to spray latex with a Fuji three stage turbine and had no luck at all, even after thinning and adding a flow out additive. But this was Sherwin Williams top of the line acrylic and seemed extremely thick, even for latex.

*Never used an apollo but I spray latex with an eaglespray 3 stage turbine all of the time. I use a .72 needle with the matching air cap. Even with very thick paint I dont think Ive ever thinned it more than 10 percent. A lot depends on what you are spraying. An airless would be a lot better with latex if you are painting a house, but hvlp works well with cabinets , trim , shutters, things like that.
*Well I'll be. Out of the woodwork pops non other than Charles Calagaz! Where the hell have you been all these months Charles? Nice to see you again. (hope you're drivin' GM trucks now)
*Still got the Ford. Been pretty busy, we dont get any snow to slow things down in the winter down here, although it has been nice and cool for a while. Nice to see that things are still pretty much the same at breaktime. The speed is sure up from what it was.
