I have a dozen kitchen cabinet doors that I need to paint.
I’d like to try my hand at spraying them. I have never sprayed anything in my life, except with an
aerosol can.
I’ve read the user reviews of the Wagner Power Painter, on Amazon and it seems to have gotten mixed reviews… okay if you’re, say, painting a fence but not so good if you’re doing critical work.
Since I have a compressor, I looked at a Sears unit- (the URL is at the top of this post since it doesn’t want to paste down here for whatever reason).
I realize there will be a learning curve with spraying. Just wondering if this is going to be one big headache and maybe I should just break out the paint brush and some Flotrol?
The paint is latex semi gloss, by the way.
Thanks

Spraygun
This past summer I installed dentil crown molding and new baseboard in three bedrooms and living room. Previously the trim and doors were stained and polyurethaned. New crown molding and baseboard and old trim and fourteen doors needed to be primed and painted with latex paint.
I used the Porter Cable PSH1 spray gun with the PTA22 Nozzle Kit (2.2.mm) to prime and paint. Couldn't be happier with the results! My MAC700 compressor was perfect for the job. I did use a little Flotrol to thin out the latex.
I also got the more expensive AOM WB HVLP spraygun but I still prefered the PSH1. The PSH1 is a great deal for the price!
Stay Away from the Wagner Power Painter for painting with latex. I tried it and in my opinion it's crap.

Re: HVLP tips
Thanks for the foam roller tip and the suggestion for a decent spray gun model.
One more question- on air line filters to use with a spray gun...
Are the $30 single-stage filters adequate for removing moisture from the compressor line
for spray painting?
The only other filter option I've found on line is a two stage CH unit. It has a filter bowl and a second section with a desiccant unit in it.
I don't mind paying the $120 for the two stage unit if that's what's required.
thanks,
