Can anyone help me with calculations to determine what size BTU gas water heater needs to be installed to efficiently run a 43,200 BTU Apollo hydronic heating system and still leave plenty of water for showering, dishwashing, etc. I do not have heat loss calculations for the house. I am simply looking for the formula(s) used to determine water heater BTU’s. There are no whirlpool or other features to draw on this system.
Currently there is a 40,000 BTU, 50 gallon gas water heater that I have been told is highly under powered to run the Apollo system.
