Found a graphic on a website that shows the entry ceiling I was mistakenly calling a groined ceiling. The ceiling is actually called a quadripartite vault. To see the graphic go to-

Already framed it and drywalled it and am waiting for the drywall finishers to tape bed and finish before I have some pictures put on a floppy to post. It was pretty easy to frame once
the hips were in place.

*You used 1/4" drywall? Not that it looks easy, but you only had to bend drywall in 2 dimensions right? Doesn't look like a real money maker but it looks like a real crowd pleaser. Congrats, can't wait to see the pictures. Built curve knee walls recently and found that to be a fair challenge, can't imagine the fun of figuring that one out.

Yes JD we framed it out and drywalled with 2 layers of 1/4 flex drywall, It took me and an apprentice about a week to frame it and about 3 days to drywall it. We finished it about the second week in january and are still waiting for the finishers to tape bed and float it. It is the entry, 16 feet by 30 feet in a 10000 foot custom home in Amarillo Texas and will look real neat when finished. The Home has an eliptical shaped domed cieling that we framed and finished with Z brick that is also real attractive and rather unique, I am waiting for finished pictures of both to post at the same time.

That sucker would take me a year to frame! and I'd have so many boogered pieces that the owners would burn it down!
