I am in Maryland and am thinking about getting licensed. I used to be to be a carpenter about 8 years ago (for about 7-8 yrs) before a career change and miss it sometimes. I have been doing occassional side jobs when people ask, but now think that it is time to get licensed. My problem is that MD requires you to have 2 years experience when you apply for a license and I am not sure how I would document that. I could not ask the companies I worked for years ago for docs. Does anyone know how MD requires one to document your experience when you apply? Thanks

Krico,
I held a Maryland HIC licenense for over 20 years before moving to GA in 1998. The HIC licences test is intense, mostly contract law. However you can gat a contractors liscense for $17.00. Grew up in Bethesda.
