Hello all, two simple (for you all!) questions here regarding ICF’s and SIP’s. I am a homeowner going to build another home and am leaning toward using both of these in building our home. However, I live in Minnesota and am going to build a two story walkout and was concerned that either one or both of these technological advances may be weather sensitive. The second question is with so many options out there, is there a concensus #1,#2, #3 rated product for each of these? It’s very hard for a novice to discern the claims each manufacturer makes, since they all sound good. I haven’t found a contractor in the area with a ton of experience in these areas, but from what I have read these are the way to go for any variety of reasons…excluding cost (heard both will be more costly than stick built regular foundation). VERY SORRY for the long post but sincerely appreciate any and all replys!!

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

See if you can find a discussion by Wrecked Angle ... I think it was in the photo section of all places ... he just completed a sip house in Nowhere Texas and would be a good source of info. I tried to do a search but it didn't work. See if you can find a post by him and send him an email. (he also goes by Golden Wrecked Angle ... I think he's trying to upgrade his image)
Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell'em "Certainly, I can!" Then get busy and find out how to do it. T. Roosevelt
