I am in the process of designing a Queen Anne Victorian style home that I plan to build myself in northern California coast. Although I have no hands on experience with ICF construction it seems to be a logical choice for the wet and windy coast. I am planning to use ICF,s for the exterior walls and floor system. I am a “hands on” general contractor with experience in residential room additions and remodel. I have been in contact with some of the major ICF manufacturers for product information. What I would really appreciate now is feedback from builders who are familiar with ICF,s and can offer information on recommending a product, quality of customer service, ease of use, pitfalls etc.
Thanks, Adge

A lot more builders participate in the Breaktime forum than this one. You'll get more responses there.
We are building ICF house in Canada. We are using Logix product. My husban is a general contractor and he loves this product. We felt Logix in Canada, there customer service was great. We asked an ICF builder to help us built, but we don't recommend this person.
Now our house is almost done, we finish drywall and we are going to paint this week. It is so warm with very small heater, it is amazing.
Anyway I just wanted to tell you we are happy with Logix.
I used Reward for my basement walls, got a lot of false information from the dealer's rep about proper installation procedure, follow the instructions to the letter, rent or buy the metal bracing and do not use wood, it isn't sufficient. They did turn out OK, but hindsight is 20/20, there's a few things I'd do differently.
If I did it again, I would use Logix, seems to be a similar but superior product. Make sure you get borate-treated ICF's to guard against bugs.
