Oberon,
How thin can I find dual-pane IG units, in a size smaller than 2 ‘ x 3’?
I’m upgrading some single pane basement windows to dual-pane IG and I don’t want to have to deepen the rabbets too much if I can avoid it. They would probably be tempered glass, if that matters.
I realize there is an optimum air space that is probably too thick for this application, and I’m willing to live with a sub-optimum airspace, which is likely to insulate better than single pane glass.
I enjoy reading your posts, thanks.

I was a glazier for three years and we used to install IG units as small as 3/8"Check your local glass shop they should be able to order them for you, or possibly make them.
Thanks, Spike. That sounds pretty good.

3/8" airspace or overall dimensions (out to out)of glass panels?
They can't get your Goat if you don't tell them where it is hidden.
3/8 out to out .
This stuff has an 'air space' of only .25mm Probably a bit pricey though.

Reinvent, that's neat stuff -- not only will it be pricey, but it's not in production until 2009.

Yep, 1/8" glass / 1/8" air space / 1/8" glass
Although energy performance isn't all that great....
The Guardian IG is going to be pricey - probably way too high for basement windows
Thanks, Oberon.
