A buddy told me he thought this bedroom set looked like something from Ikea- I’m not overly excited about the design, but it was fun to do-this material is “re-cut” walnut- what appears as grain lines are actually glue joints between layers of veneer

the headboard is used for storing decorative pillows during sleepy time
*these silly side boxes are very labor intensive!!
*Greg:Interesting work....I can see lots of hours in that.
*thanks Stan, & yep- lotsa hours there...
*Greg, are you reproducing an existing piece? What is the interior lining? Are the drawers aluminum or some steel?
*Dustin- no reproduction here that I know of, except for the drawing the designer gave me- interior is white melamine, drawer sides are 1/2" Baltic Birch, drawer btms are 1/2" melamine
*Greg, Whip your buddy's a**! You can't find ANYTHING of that quality at Ikea... Great looking work. Just out of curiousity, how long did that whole project take? I'm guessing a week or two?Mike
*Thanks Michael, I had a week & a half in it- woulda went quicker but I was teaching a friend how I put things together- and the designer shot down an idea after he had oked it over the phone & after I had built it that way(I felt with the way it was meeting the walls it would look better with the drawer fronts inset instead of overlay- but What do I know?)
